Labas!

Behind kopūstas is Jonas, a New Yorker who grew up about as Lithuanian as you can get without actually living in Lithuania. Lithuanian school, Lithuanian Scouts, Lithuanian sports, Lithuanian church, Lithuanian summer camps, Lithuanian folk dancing. The whole deal. Some of it stuck. Clearly.

Then he married a beautiful girl who grew up thinking hers was the only Lithuanian family in the neighborhood. Silly rabbit. More than twenty years later, she's embraced the whole Lithuanian circus, brought plenty of her own ideas to the table, and become the other half of kopūstas. Some might even say the better half.

Born out of a love for Lithuanian culture and a refusal to take ourselves too seriously, we create original T-shirts, playful gifts, and other good stuff for Lithuanians and their friends.

Some of our ideas come from childhood memories. Others come from Lithuanian food, folklore, and the peculiar experience of being Lithuanian in New York. Occasionally, they come from a cabbage-headed astronaut.

We're also making room for thoughtfully chosen goods from Lithuania and the people who make them.

A little tradition. A little attitude. A sense of humor.
